This probe consists of a stainless steel rod (d = 5 mm) with pointed tip, and with an eyelet for hanging it to springbalance. When the rod is pressed into the soil by the spring balance, the force required can be read off from the balance. This is a measure of the compaction of the soil. diameter: 5 mm length: 58 mm
